Since bulk SMS has become one of the most used methods of sending messages across to people, it’s also natural to find people looking for where they can get cheap bulk SMS service in Nigeria. If you fall among this set of persons, then you just have to read this.
One of the most important lessons you will ever learn in your online life is “buy cheap and regret heavily” or “pay cheap, pay twice”. The reason for this maxim is that most times you find some individuals advertising products at ridiculously low prices that will make even Santa Claus cringe, only for people to come back and complain in forums and other online gatherings that they were mugged by such online service provider. In reality, the major rationale behind such low prices is usually to gather enough persons by selling what is not even available and disappear with their funds.
I usually try out these services whenever they advertise unrealistic prices and EVERY SINGLE TIME, there where issues with their service. The latest was a Port Harcourt based company (names with held) that sent an SMS advertising at 0.85 kobo per SMS, interested, an order was made. The first surprise was being arm twisted to pay a sum of 10,000 for linking to their API (a service offered for free by every one) which I paid. To be fair, the service was fast on the first 3-5 days before which I started getting Error messages for no reason even with enough credits in the account. After explaining the issue by calling the provider, that was the last time my call was picked, this is apart from the fact that International messages never went through once.
So, in your quest to find cheap bulk SMS service in Nigeria, you just have to be very wary of walking into that time tested trap. With some of these low price SMS gateway providers what you will get is a system that does not deliver messages or one that delivers it half way. This can be very annoying. Imagine paying some amount of money (no matter how small) only for you to finally see that just the first two or three lines of the messages were delivered. Yet another abnormality with these low cost SMS platforms is the issue of website unavailability. Some of these providers, in a bid to cut down on overhead costs, host their sites with webhosting companies that have an uptime percentage that is below 50. 90% uptime is bad let alone 50! Either that or they are on overloaded servers. What this means is that when you need the service, you are likely going to be getting the highly disappointing ‘webpage not available’ notification.
Having said all these, it doesn’t mean that there are no good SMS service providers in Nigeria that are cheap. What you need to do is to be sure that you do your due diligence before subscribing to anyone. Go online, read reviews and ask questions.

May 30, 2015 at 11:29 pmYou are right – If you buy cheap, you regret heavily. It will be nice for any SMS buyer to buy from a reputable seller. That is the only way you will get value for money.
