LOW PATRONAGE??? HERE ARE MISTAKES YOU COULD BE MAKING AS A BULK SMS RESELLER/WEBSITE OWNER

Business is a game of strategy; failure to do your due diligence on certain factors could confine you in a frustrating rat race. Success does not belong to those who work the hardest, but to those who work the smartest, and working smart involves steering clear of pitfalls that may make it difficult for you to enjoy halleluya-worthy patronage.

There are a number of such pitfalls in bulk SMS business, as a reseller/owner of your website. If you are currently witnessing low patronage, chances are that you have already been caught in one or more of these webs:

POOR BUSINESS PROMOTION/MARKETING

There is a reason marketing/advertisement is a billion dollar industry – people cannot patronize what they haven’t seen. Have you been actively promoting your business?

No business benefits from keeping a low profile. Get back to your ‘marketing’ drawing board and etch out innovative ways to further promote your bulk SMS business. That is the only way more people – your potential customers – can see and hear you amidst all that’s going on in their lives. Get creative; get intense.

POOR WEBSITE DESIGN

Have you ever tried to use a service that was not user-friendly? Did you look forward to repeating the experience?

Having a poor web design is a surefire ingredient for repelling your potential customers. No one would want to patronize a business whose main channel of interaction is either unresponsive or carelessly put together– itusually gives off the impression of anegligent or cranky business owner.

A beautiful lady dressed in rice sacks can never win a beauty contest. To keep customers from deflecting off your bulk SMS website, ensure that your website’s design/layout is giving visitors the impression of a cheerful business owner saying, “Hello, welcome…”

TOO MUCH ADVERTS ON WEBSITE

While a subtle monetization of your website is in order, turning your site into an advertisement maze full of dancing ‘click me” pit-traps would turn off many potential customers.

It should be evident to all visitors that your site maintains its advertised/stated purpose – bulk SMS reselling – as its number one priority. Distracting clients with several seemingly ‘desperate’ attempts to make more money would simply give them the impression that they have a confused business owner on their hands, and confusion is not a virtue.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND/OR POOR SERVICE DELIVERY

Word of mouth is the most potent form of marketing – when it’s coming from a trusted friend or relation. But so is an evil report, and evil reports are really bad for business.

No one would recommend a business that had subjected them to a frustrating customer service experience or poor service delivery. How do you respond to enquiries? How committed are you in helping your clients resolve their challenges with your service? Are you always available for your clients? Is your service as fast and reliable as you claim? Do you rescind on all or part of your agreements at will? Etc.

If your customer service or service delivery leaves anything to be desired, then you have unwittingly been pleading for low patronage – once the word gets out, the effect is usually quite damaging. The only way to fix this is to turn over a new leaf ASAP.
